A FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY FOR ANY PARENT/CARER WHO FEELS LIKE AN ALIEN IN THEIR CHILD’S INCREASINGLY DIGITAL WORLD…
Parental Information Session with Professor Andy Phippen
Wednesday 7th March 2018 at 5pm
We are delighted that we have been able to invite Professor Andy Phippen, to talk to parents about online behaviour and safety. Andy is a Professor of Social Responsibility in Information Technology at The University of Plymouth and has advised the Government on issues of the social impact of technological innovation. He specialises in work around the use of technology by children and young people, looking at areas around online safety, privacy, digital literacy and the impact of ‘digital natives’ in the workplace. He speaks regularly at schools on issues such as safe online practice, data protection and privacy.
I am sure that you will agree this is an excellent opportunity for all of us to learn more about how we can ensure our children are staying safe online and that they recognise the importance of their own ‘social responsibility’ in our increasingly digital world.
If you are likely to attend, please email Nicola Penfold on
as this will help us decide on a suitable venue for the number of parents/carers that will be attending. We will then confirm the venue with you nearer the time.
We look forward to seeing you,
Mrs Vanessa Maule
