Towan House wear red and black ties. We feel this ties in perfectly with our support of the RNLI!
Matt Cherry is Head of Towan House. He is also a mathematics teacher. In his spare time he enjoys being walked by his Dalmatian (Olly) and spending time on the beach with his family. He is passionate about maths and strongly believes in good manners and a hard work ethic. These are just two of the qualities that also make Towan the best house.
Towan continue to support the RNLI specifically by fundraising for the Newquay lifeboat station. At our charity day last year we rasied the most out of all four houses by breaking the £1000 pound mark – well done to you all! This year the Towan house charity day will be on Friday the 27th of January, details to follow but it will be non uniform (£1 donation).
Highlights from the last academic year would have to include:
- Towan students had the best attendance of the four houses!
- Towan students also won the award for the most house points (watch out for your reward soon).
- Seeing so many year 11 Towan students looking fabulous at the summer ball.
- Fabulous GCSE results. Well done to year 11 on another amazing year.
Our House team this year is captained by Charlie and Jayda in year 11, they are willing to hear student views at any time – so please feel free to talk with them, the prefects or any of the year representatives. Student leaders in year 11, including the prefects, wear plain golden ties – so they are very easy to spot!
