The creative arts and DT teams were celebrating a clean sweep at Falmouth University’s CreatEd event recently. In the Post 16 category of the university’s annual celebration of secondary schools’ arts, the faculty scooped top honours in fine art (Shanie Svenson), music (Davidson Moses) and drama (Year 12 drama’s devised piece).
Additionally, there were several Highly Commended awards for both post 16 and GCSE entries from across the area. For art these included, Erin Latham, Phoebe Priest, Kaitlyn Ryan and Poppy Metherell, for music, Alex fielding and Luke Agius, for drama, the Year 13’s performance of Hansel and Gretel and for DT, Luke Agius and Callum Moore.
Sam Colborne, head of creative arts, commented, “These awards are well deserved – our students have shown both exceptional ability and commitment to their work, so it is wonderful to see them gaining this recognition. As a team, we are delighted.”
