Inter-house surf contest runs in challenging conditions

Monday 21st May 2018

On the 11th of May at Tolcarne Beach Treviglas held its annual Inter-house surfing event. This forms part of the Inter-house Sports Challenge competition with many different activities and sports available for the students to take part in throughout the year.

Sean Wells, Community Sports Coordinator, said, ‘The inter-house surfing competition is the only competition of its type in England. We were lucky to have brilliant weather and good clean surf out the back for the competitors.’

All the age groups and categories were very tight with the power of the waves at times making it hard to get out the back.

Charlotte, Year 10 surfer, said, ‘I really enjoyed the day competing in the inter-house; the surf was clean out the back and at times there was some big sets coming through.’
