Ghana Partnership

Treviglas Community College is very proud to be building a partnership with Joy Standard High School in Kumasi, Ghana.
Kumasi
Kumasi is in South-central Ghana which is popularly known as "The Garden City" or "heart beat" of Ghana because of its many beautiful species of flowers and plants. With a population of 1.5 million Kumasi is Ghana’s second largest city. Situated in the tropical rainforest region of Ghana the climate is very warm and wet all year round.
Joy Standard High School
Situated in Atonsu, a suburb of Kumasi, Joy Standard educates 1000 pupils under the guidance of head teacher, Mr. John Ahiadekey. The school has many modern facilities, including a new ICT suite.
The Link
Since June 2009, the Citizenship Studies faculty has been developing a link between Treviglas and Joy Standard High School. Mr Awuah Clifford (in Ghana, not our very own Mr Clifford here at Treviglas!) has been working with Mr Leech to develop pen-pals, camera exchanges and web links. These links are helping us explore another country, through the eyes of Joy Standards pupils.
