Maths revision lesson for year 11 – Easter holidays 2018

Wednesday 28th March 2018

PEN/RS                                                                                                        28th March 2018

Dear Year 11 Parent/Carer

Your child has been invited to attend a targeted maths revision lesson in the holiday. Please see the allocated date time and room below. The maths staff have volunteered to give up their time to provide this revision opportunity. We would strongly encourage your child to attend to benefit from the extra revision support. Your child will need to bring with them your consent to attend.

  • 00am to 12.00am on Wednesday 4th April 2018 for Mr Cherry’s class in F4.
  • 00am to 12.00am on Wednesday 4th April 2018 for Mr Hulks’ class in F5.
  • 30pm to 3.30am on Wednesday 4th April 2018 for Mrs Penrose’s class in F5.
  • 00am to 12.00am on Wednesday 11th April 2018 for Mr Hatch’s class in F2.
  • 00am to 12.00am on Wednesday 11th April 2018 for Mr Roger’s class in F6.
  • 00am to 12.00am on Wednesday 11th April 2018 for Mrs Penrose’s class in F5.
  • 30pm to 3.30am on Wednesday 11th April 2018 for Mr Dawes’ class in F5.

Please be aware of the following practical points. The college buses will not be running therefore you will need to ensure that you child can travel to and from college safely. On arrival your child will need to sign in at reception then make their way to room F5. The canteen will not be open so your child will need to bring with them a drink and snack. The students will be expected to remain in the lesson for the full time period. We will have a supervised break. For safety reasons we cannot have students moving unsupervised around the college, leaving early, or going off site at break. The students will not be working in their normal maths books however they may find them useful to bring as a reference, they will need their calculator pen pencil eraser and ruler. Students are not expected to wear uniform, they are advised to dress warmly.

It is very important that the students who choose to attend these sessions understand that the usual behaviour expectations will apply. This is to ensure that staff and students alike who have given up their holiday gain the maximum benefit from attendance. For example no phones out in class, listening when the teacher is talking and focusing sensibly on the tasks set. Students who do not comply with these expectations will be asked to leave, if necessary they can wait in reception for transport.

Kind regards

Mrs Robin Penrose Head of Mathematics
