A personal thank you from me to all parents who attended the Parent Forum yesterday. As in our previous meeting we discussed the most current issues related to our journey from special measures as well as the possible changes we can expect related to moving into a Multi Academy Trust. I very much valued your opinions about our new marking policy, your ideas to help us improve the systems around the Independent Study Projects in Year 7 and your suggestions about how we can communicate in more effective ways – especially around the information we send home regarding equipment and textbooks.
We plan to build on the success of this Parent Forum to give parents/guardians a further opportunity to discuss our SEND provision so we can support our students overcome the obstacles and difficulties that can arise in an educational setting. More information will be sent out about this soon.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 24th January at 5pm in room A1 and we very much hope that even more parents will be able to attend.
And just as a helpful reminder, January is quite a busy month for events.
Please see below for details:
- Week commencing 15th January – Take a Look in the Books week #3
- Monday 15th January 2018 – Year 9 Options Evening – 5.30 – 7.30 pm
- Wednesday 17th January 2018 – KS3 Pathways and Progression 5-6pm, Post-16 Block. We have simplified our KS3 assessment pathways to enable a clear progression route through subject skills. This session will provide parents and carers with a level of understanding so that they can talk to students about subject skills and mastery indicators with confidence.
