This time, the band were thrilled to be at The Great Estate Festival, at Scorrier House, Cornwall.
The festival crowd grew and grew for the Steelers’ Saturday afternoon slot at this excellent three day event. They smiled, danced and sang along to the Steelers’ set, as the band played enthusiastically, delivering their riotous set of familiar songs rearranged with a Caribbean sound. Once again, the band’s rearrangement of ‘Killing In The Name Of’ brought the house down, and their’ arrangement of Toto’s ‘Africa’ is now a firm favourite with band and audiences alike – please search it up on Youtube!
Speaking after the performance, one band member commented, “That was absolutely awesome – the crowd was HUGE!”
Mr. Steve Mildenhall, music teacher and band leader added, “The dedication and commitment our students give to the band, and all the rehearsals, has once again paid off, as they thoroughly entertained the audience. So many of the current band are younger and newer band members too – I am incredibly proud of them all, and really grateful to the support of the band members’ families – go team Treviglas!”
The Steelers are looking forward to their next performances, on Friday 22nd June at ‘Festival in the Field’ in St Mawgan, and then on Sunday 15th July, where they will once again play the main stage at Tropical Pressure – a world music festival that takes place in Porthtowan.
