Treviglas leads the way in Cornwall for A Level student progress

Tuesday 27th February 2018

A Level students from Treviglas made the most progress last year, when compared to other maintained 11-18 schools and colleges in Cornwall.

A Level and level 3 BTEC results from Treviglas in 2017 placed Treviglas second in the county in the recently published league tables. We are delighted to be the highest-placed locally maintained Post 16 centre in Cornwall, coming ahead of both Further Education colleges and all other locally maintained schools and academies.  The results of our students placed us as one of only two schools in the “well above average” category.

This is a tremendous accolade to a wonderful team of talented students and teachers, who have much to be proud of: a 100% A Level pass rate for the second year in a row with 60% achieving at least two or more A/A* grades in their level 3 qualifications.

Sandra Stephens, Director of Post 16 Studies at Treviglas Community College, commented, “I am so proud of our students for gaining these results, which have placed us at the top of maintained schools and colleges in the county. I am particularly pleased that so many of our students are using their success to follow their aspiration to take university courses and apprenticeships. Their achievements would not have been possible without the dedication of an excellent team of teachers, who really care about the progress of each and every student.”
