Treviglas samba band took part in Newquay carnival, creating a relaxed and happy vibe as they played in the sunshine. The band joined with members of Newquay Tretherras samba band and also drummers from St Columb Minor Academy. On a hot evening the performers worked hard carrying and playing their instruments throughout the town.
The band was greeted with delighted smiles, cheers and dancing as the procession continued throughout Newquay. We couldn’t have wished for a better atmosphere as the carnival took place directly after the latest England World Cup win, and the sun was shining down, adding to the carnival fun.
Many of the finest musicians at Treviglas have been part of the Treviglas Samba Band that has run for many years. If you’d like to join the Treviglas samba band please come and see Mr Mildenhall – there will be a drum in the group that already has your name on it. It is free to join and they rehearse once a week.
