The College Key Stage 4 girls’ and Key Stage 4 boys’ badminton teams reached the Cornwall School games badminton finals recently, which took place at Truro School. The Treviglas players have been working hard on their play in Sports sessions and at after school club. The finals were always going to be hard, with most other teams there having members of the county teams. However, the Treviglas teams did amazingly well, showing grit, determination and resilience in the face of adversity. Both the girls and boys teams came away with bronze medals, the best results ever for Treviglas!
Maddie, a Year 11 player, said, “The doubles matches were really fun but exhausting. I think we could have done better, but many of the players were amazing.”
Mr. Andy Nions, Head of PE at Treviglas, commented, “Increasingly, Treviglas teams are demonstrating on a regional and even national level that we excel at sport. For our badminton players to do so well amongst such fierce competition is fantastic.”
