Treviglas was delighted to welcome new Year 7 students to the school for their transfer day recently, prior to them beginning their secondary school journey in September.
Students enjoyed a day getting to know their new class-mates and meeting members of staff and Treviglas student leaders. Activities during the day included drama workshops, a music and entertainment quiz, working on film clips and learning about resilience and self-esteem through games and creative tasks. Students engaged with a variety of historical artefacts during one of the group-work activities, and also had the opportunity to design and create a historical item of clothing from newspaper during an exciting team-building task. During the basketball sessions at Treviglas’ Sports Hub, the primary children were guided by members of the Year 7 basketball team, who competed in the national finals at Manchester earlier this term.
Primary students also had their first taste of the school canteen, which for many of them was the highlight of their day. After this day learning about the new routines, the children left excited to join the school in September. We look forward to seeing many of them again soon for the forthcoming summer school.
