Year 11 subject evening

Tuesday 14th November 2017

DRA/NP                                                                                                                   13th November 2017

Dear Parent/Carer

On Monday 4th December, the college is hosting a year 11 subject evening from 3.30 to 7.00 p.m.  This event will give parents and students an opportunity to speak with subject teachers regarding progress and their start to the academic year.

Given the volume of potential interest and the amount of subject teachers that may wish to be seen, appointments will be booked for a period of 5 minutes.

Subject teachers and students will arrange these appointments the week beginning 13th November where students will be issued with forms to do this.  Please could you liaise with your son/daughter to ensure that he/she is aware of when you are available so these bookings can be made, which will be on a first come first serve basis. All bookings are to be made by Friday 24th November.

As these slots are short, teachers will have a very focused approach where the students’ standard of work, target and likely grades will be discussed.

Although succinct, the appointment will allow parents to know exactly where their son/daughter is with respect to that subject, how much effort he/she is putting in and what he/she needs to do to improve.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your first appointment to collect your son/daughter’s mock results. It will be really beneficial for you and your son/daughter to receive these results on this night so that you will be able to celebrate your son’s/daughter’s successes or discuss with subject teachers any queries that you may have that arise from the mock results.

The college really looks forward to seeing you there on this important evening and believes that such an event will significantly improve the progress of all students at this important stage of their educational career. If you are unable to attend, please email Mrs Penfold at

Yours sincerely
Rebecca Drake
Assistant Headteacher
