Re: CLEAR HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS WORKSHOPS
As part of the year 7 programme, please read the following letter detailing involvement in the CLEAR programme:
As part of a Government initiative we have been contracted by Cornwall Safety Partnership (part of the County Council) to deliver 4 Healthy Relationships workshops in Cornish schools.
The programme will take 4 weeks, once a week during college time and the aims are:
- To promote healthy relationships and have an understanding of what is an unhealthy relationship
- To have a good understanding of sexual relationship including the meaning of “freedom and capacity to consent”
- To be able to identify various types of abuse, signs of abuse, the impact of abuse and ways to cope with abuse including how and where to ask for help
- To develop communication skills, improve self-esteem and have respect for themselves and others.
The programme will be presented by qualified therapists who specialise in working with children and young people and will include drama, music and art to help develop understanding of the aims set out above. The therapists should be able to support emotionally anything that arises out of the workshops. If appropriate, further therapy can be accessed through CLEAR.
If you have any queries about the programme and what it involves, please contact Mrs N Vittle.
We hope that you will consider it a worthwhile programme for your child to undertake – however, if you do not wish to grant permission for them to attend, please email Mrs Penfold at N.Penfold@treviglas.cornwall.sch.uk by Monday 21st May.
