Treviglas welcomed more able Year 3 and 4 pupils to an animation masterclass in the final week of term. Pupils from St. Columb Minor Academy, Goonhavern School, Newquay Junior Academy, Perranporth School, St Newlyn East Learning Academy and St Columb Major ACE Academy attended the inspirational morning.
Digital leaders from Treviglas relished the opportunity to work with the primary pupils and assist them with their learning. During the workshop, the children explored how to use graphics software to create a key frame animation. They learnt about layers and how they work in an animation, before developing their own animations further. In addition, the pupils considered copyright issues associated with images.
The primary students worked enthusiastically throughout the masterclass and everyone had a great morning. Finlay, a pupil at St Newlyn East Learning Academy, said, “I have loved doing the animation and learning how to make the objects move.”
Another student, Amelia, a pupil at Goonhavern School, reported, “I have learnt how to make an animation on the computer and it was really fun.”
Beth, one of the trained digital leaders at Treviglas, commented, “I taught the primary children how to use and develop their animation features further, through the use of movement and action.”
Treviglas is looking forward to hosting further primary masterclasses over the summer term, with opportunities provided for pupils from Years 1-6 in a variety of subject areas.
