Are you the next talented media producer? With the BTEC Tech Award in Creative Media Production, you will get the chance to develop valuable skills and techniques in different media disciplines.
In Component 1, you will research and analyse a range of past and present media products include audio moving image (film/television), publishing (webpages/blogs/ magazines) and interactive media (video games/apps) You will be asked to discover who the audiences are, the purpose of the product and how the media production techniques are used to engage and communicate meaning to their target audience.
In Component 2, you will take part in workshops where you will develop practical media production skills. You will have the opportunity to specialise in creating one or more of the following media sectors – audio moving image (movie editing), publishing (designing a magazine cover/advertisement) and interactive media (website/app design).
Bringing together all the new skills and knowledge you will have learned, you will be asked to take the role of a ‘junior production assistant’ where you will be asked to create a 60 second music video for a new band or artist that is ‘covering’ a popular song. As well as this you will design a brand new promotional logo they can use to create a brand identity.
This course is designed for students that would like to experience a practical introduction to working in the media industry.
