A LEVEL
EXAM BOARD: AQA
Entry requirements: GCSE grade 4 and above in 5 subjects including English
This course will take the student through a series of camera and Photoshop skills workshops in year 12, to ensure each student is capable of being creative with a camera at a high level. Year 12 is fun, experimental and challenging. Students should expect to work hard both in and out of college on a range of themes which explore the visual language of photography.

In year 13 we focus on creating a coursework portfolio which consists of an essay and a practical project and is worth 60% of the final grade. This unit is followed by the exam project in February, which is a practical project, set by the exam board (AQA).

This project is worked on with the teacher, but culminates in a practical exam where students complete a 15 hour final outcome unaided.

It is advantageous to own your own DSLR for this course.
